The story of "Five Sweet Potatoes"
Five sweet potatoes sat side by side in a casserole dish. They covered themselves with foil.
Then they took a long nap in a very hot oven. Upon waking they found themselves all soft and sweeter then ever. To their delight, their ugly skins came off with one turn and all that was left was lovely orange flesh.
Into a pretty blue bowl they went and found themselves all mashed-up and ready for work.
One cup went to a fluffy loaf of bread. The sweet potatoes helped the yeast come a live and they became quite good friends.
The next cup went to a light sweet potato pie. The whipped egg whites lifted the potatoes to new heights.
And the last two cups found themselves in two sweet potato loaves. They were happy to have been used in such a way for they knew what a delightful addition to tea time they would make.
And that is the happy tale of five sweet potatoes.
